Superior BS7976 Slip resistance rating for commercial applications than any composite decking, whilst still retaining the natural beauty of hardwood.
Our exclusive ThermoWood Ash Hardwood Resin profile has passed the Certified BS 7976 slip resistance rating and is primarily used for Public Areas (commercial use). These boards can also have the grooves down the sides of our INVIZIFIX® Hidden Clip System, as shown in the images to your right. The ThermoWood Ash Hardwood Resin boards have a shallow micro-V-Groove profile with two resin aggregate inserts positioned to provide a continuous 75mm spacing between each resin strip.
Are Resin Aggregate Inserts suitable for Residential use?
We would not recommend using Resin Aggregate Inserts on a residential build as wearing shoes is required, the material will be too harsh for bare-feet and at a residential property you are likely to want to walk outside in the summer in bare-feet to relax in the sun.
However, we do have rubber inserts available upon request which are perfect for residential use around pools and children’s play areas, where a wet surface and wet feet can be slippy and the inserts are bare foot friendly!
What is ThermoWood?
ThermoWood is a thermal modification procedure that preserves wood in its most natural and flawless state for a life-long journey. The “ThermoWood method” involves a carefully computer controlled heat and steam process up to 210 degrees C.
Besides the preservation, the ThermoWood process also causes certain chemical changes in wood. Not only does the colour darken but the stability, decay resistance and insulation properties are largely increased after the process is complete.
The ThermoWood method, brand, and logo can only by the used by members of the International ThermoWood Association.
